I am really getting anxious to make so many different things to hang in my new home. A year ago, I pinned on Pinterest a Corn Husk Sunflower wreath. You can see the tutorial here:
I had planned to make this and knew it would be going in my kitchen somewhere. With me in fall mode, I decided to complete this now. There were some adjustments from the original tutorial. I couldn't get the twine to work, I used wire and I also used wood and painted it with chalkboard paint for the middle. I have enough corn husks for about 12 wreaths so I am going to make one with pine cones, but this one is now over our fireplace in our kitchen. I sprayed the corn husks with the TintIt spray in Sunflower yellow to make it yellow and stenciled the center. I also spray painted the other side of a window I previously painted with green paint. I am totally crazy about this for my kitchen. Here is the other one I added to my kitchen as well.
This one was actually a whoops but it is very cheerful when you walk into my kitchen and I love it. Same as above but just a different middle. I have a few more that I am making that I will post when they are completed.
Mona decided to help with the wreaths....
I also purchased this for our living room which I finally hung this weekend:
and another sign that I got for the same room: It needs to be said:
