Restoring a piece of the past!

This vanity belonged to my mother.  My mother was always finding things at "a bargain" and making them her own.  This was the vanity she was using as her own until she passed away in 2003.  My husband thinks she actually got it at a dump that someone threw away, and she very well might have.  It's been stored in my basement since 2003.  When I opened the drawer, it still smelled like her room, which made me emotional and made me even that much more want to save it, and bring it back to life.

It was in very bad shape.  The back leg needed to be reglued and was clamped for a week to make sure it would hold.  One of the drawers needs to be glued as well.  The top was the biggest transform.  There was marble contact paper on the top which was also on top of...I'm not really sure what it was but whatever it was, it was too thick to sand down and make smooth again.  My husband cut me a piece of plywood and we glued that right on top.  I sanded the top and the whole thing and began to paint.  I used Maison Blanche Magnolia for the white, and I had purchased a sample of Maison Blanche Colette.  I really like that color but didn't really have an idea where I wanted to use it, and this seems like the place.  I wanted something bright and cheerful since it belonged to my mother.  I used two coats on the front of all the drawers and on the top.  I then used a piece of lace and spray painted white on all the drawers and the top.  I then waxed it with Maison Blanche Lime Wax in white.  It really looks amazing in my white room!
