When my husband and I purchased this home, we both agreed that we loved this wallpaper. It's old, it's out dated I'm sure, but we both loved it. I matched colors off of it for both rooms and all the rooms upstairs off of it. My plan was to brighten it, it's too fragile to wash. We also had wall damage right in that corner in the photograph so the wallpaper had to be removed and put back, so I needed something with texture to cover up the seams. My attempts did not work and the wallpaper fell apart and although it was the one thing on the walls we were saving from the houses history, it cannot be saved and must come down. I realize there are much more important things to be sad about in the world today. I can come up with many more if I choose to dwell on these things. I am actually surprised how much it is bothering me to part with something so old, dated and in rough shape, but everything I did in this house was around this wallpaper. I do plan on making a lot of things out of the scraps and none of it will be thrown away so there will most likely be art work hanging on the wall from this paper but for now, I have to come up with a new plan for our foyer. Goodbye 1980's victorian wallpaper, I couldn't save you and I'm crushed!
