Finally got back to the house this weekend and completed what was halted almost a month ago. It's going to take a bit to get back into the groove, but I am happy to have completed what I started, and move on to the next project. With that I have a few before and after finals!
The first one is a jewelry amiore I picked up almost a year ago. I have stored it every since I picked it up. I found it locally and fell in love with it. I am also NOT a organized person and am very bad with my jewelry. I will use this heavily. I paid 35.00 for it. I couldn't get over it. It had some broken handles and one of the corners looked like it had been glued on but I thought it was stunning and couldn't get over that it was 35.00. Off to storage it went until now.

Here is the after:
I used Maison Blanche Mardi Gras but added some white to it to lighten it up. I put the first coat on lightly and when I did I liked the effect, so I didn't add a second coat and used Maison Blanche clear wax. This was also my first time using Maison Blanche Crackle. I had some issues that I know are due to the temperature of the room at the time of painting but the effect did come out very nicely on the drawer as shown here:
The groovy knobs were purchased at Leslie Consignments (correction, located the knobs at Hobby Lobby and cheaper) and are the same knobs I got for the vanity. Since these two would be right next to each other, I wanted them to match.
Here is the final of the vanity sitting right across from it, the painting I did I wanted to distress so it's waxed and I think I can finally say I am done with it!
Here is the before:
I realize this has been posted previously but not completed. This has been distressed, painted, waxed, sanded painted again, crackled, waxed, sanded again, hand painted and sanded and waxed for the last time. I really am crazy about it and it looks happy when you walk into the room. So much more nicer than what it was in the beginning. Besides the multiple times I changed my mind on this, this was done identical to the jewelry amiore.
I also learned how to use a staple gun this weekend!! This was quite amazing. I felt powerful! I had purchased the stair runners over a month ago and finally got them installed. The before and after of this really get me emotional as most of my pictures. I have already previously posted the before and after of my attic, but this final project was not completed. When I took the before shot, it was so dark and dreary and sad. Not anymore, and also no more trying not to slip :)
This is looking down on the fairy stairs I posted here.
Now that the projects I started a month ago are complete I can start the other projects! Yay for hubby healing :)
